Hanover County Council on Aging

Purpose:The council serves as a consultative and advisory body for the Board of Supervisors and other county boards, commissions, agencies and departments on issues pertaining to the quality of life of the citizens of Hanover County ages fifty and over.

Scope:

The council plans and hosts several special programs during the year to share information on services and resources for older adults.

Membership:

The council consists of two appointees from each of the seven magisterial districts in the county who serve as voting members. Non-voting members include one representative from Senior Connections, one representative from the Department of Community Resources and one representative from the Department of Social Services.

Meeting Schedule:

The council meets the second Monday of each month from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The council does not meet in the months of August and December.
